Marcos Dimas is a Puerto Rican
artist and activist living in the Bronx. He creates paintings using politically
and culturally charged Puerto Rican symbols. He is a co-founder of El Taller Boricua
(The Puerto Rican Workshop) in N.Y. His exhibitions include the XII Biennial de
San Juan Del Grabado Latino Americano y el Caribe (1998) and Reaffirming Spirituality
at El Museo del Barrio (1995). Mr. Dimas will be developing an interactive Web
site for improvisation, collaboration and experimentation using music and animation
software to paint sound and compose music from visual inspiration. |

| Tomie Arai makes collaborative installations, which employ autobiography, family stories, photographs, historical material and oral histories in an examination of cultural diversity. Her Cyber Project will broaden the interactive scope of her work. Her awards and residencies include the Anonymous Was A Woman Award (1997), the National Endowment for the Arts Visual Arts Fellowship for Works on Paper (1993-4) and the Creative Time Citywide Grant, Memories of New York Chinatown Banner Project (1991). |

| Jaime Permuth is a Guatemalan photographer based in New York. He is currently engaged in a photo-documentary project in Mexico and the Mexican-American borderlands entitled "Cascadas de Luz", which compares Independence Day Celebrations in both countries . His interactive Web site will help further the dialogue about this unique border and transcultural experience . He holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English Literature from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1990) and an M.F.A. in Photography from The School of Visual Arts, N.Y. (1994). He is a 1995 graduate of the Artist in the Marketplace Program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. His work has been exhibited widely both here and abroad, with shows at El Museo del Barrio, The Bronx Museum of the Arts, Museo Nacional de Arte Moderno in Guatemala, and Casa del Lago in Mexico City. |

| George Crespo constructs mixed media installations using materials indigenous to Puerto Rico. He is also a published author and illustrator of children’s books, which are designed to educate on the subject of Puerto Rican folktales. His Internet project will expand the scope of his exploration of Puerto Rican culture. He has had solo exhibits at El Museo del Barrio (1997) and The Museum of Contemporary Hispanic Art (1990) as well as participating in group exhibits at The Studio Museum in Harlem (1996) and The National Black Theater (1994). He is a 1988 graduate of the Artist in the Marketplace Program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. |
